I think in the english version only is a guy with a female voice and not a girl. It wouldn't be the first time a male anime character has a female voice.

yeah i know totally ticked me off, that and the re-dubbing of all the characters name from that eppy, i mean come on if they already have english bud names WHY CHANGE THEM!!!!!! hhhrm sorry, stupid Hun=girl

I just read something interesting. According to Wikipedia, they kept Bashou a boy. They just gave him a girly name and voice.

Once I started thinking about it, I realized that not only is he never refered to as a girl but someone (I think it was the Professor-person they were working with) refered to him and Buson as 'those men'.

So maybe they really did keep him a boy but gave him a girly name and voice out of stupidity (or to tick people off)?

PS I will and ALWAYS believe that Bashou is a man!!!! The American Dub may tell you that he is Atilla but HE WILL ALWAYS BE BASHOU in my book!

Yeah. they turned poor Bashou into a woman. I think its because what with Buson calling him Hun all the time, it'd sound kinda slashy. Then again, 4Kids never seemed to have a probelm with gay-ness before. And as if that wasn't bad enough, they made Buson a Caterpie-loving yee-hawing man named ATILLA. Atilla and Hun. Great job there 4Kids.

And Bashou's pants look too big.

But I think you got his expression perfect.

Actually, she was a guy in the original Japanese version of the show but they made her into a female for the American version.
